PARTNERSHIPS

Sponsorship is now often more commonly known as ‘Commercial Partnerships’. This term more accurately reflects the need to create long-lasting and mutually beneficial relationships with companies as opposed to simply gaining short-term financial support.
Commercial Partnerships for non-core police activities are an excellent way to extend and enhance the force's service to the community whilst at the same time providing many benefits to sponsor organisations. The key benefits may be:
The marketing of the company logo, e.g. on a sponsored vehicle
Promoting a caring company image (corporate social responsibility)
Showing committed support of the community in which they operate – linking to regeneration
Demonstrating “added value” - customers may feel better about their purchase when the purchase contributes to a good cause e.g. Andrex - Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Improving employee relations and raise staff morale
Providing commercial advantage for businesses and relevant network opportunities
Supporting the local community standing out from its competitors
Some organisations may see sponsorship as a way of overcoming some ‘bad press’ by supporting issues relating to its local community.
